Chris Steele, Lead Minister

What he does for NT: Chris casts vision for where God is taking us as a church, preaches for our worship gatherings, and is the team leader of the staff.

His family: loving and serving alongside his wife, Tonya. Father to Jonah and Levi.

In his spare time: loves to golf, read, hike, and travel. Roots for the Reds, Colts, Pacers, and Indiana University.

His favorite Bible verse: "Trust the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

Larry Marshall, Executive Minister

What he does for NT: Larry oversees daily administration and procedures and helps to empower and lead the ministry staff.

His family: Larry is married to his wife, Vicki and has three children serving in ministry.

In his spare time: Larry enjoys re-purposing and salvaging items and turning them into cool art, lamps, etc. He loves Kentucky sports and Colts football.

His favorite Bible verse: “He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” - Colossians 1:28-29

Katie Blemker, Communication and Stories Director

What she does for NT: Katie oversees communications, theming and storytelling at NT and helps to empower and lead the ministry staff.

Her family: She is married to her best friend and the love of her life: Payton. And is a proud parent of their puppy, Squeek!

In her spare time: Katie enjoys playing soccer, volleyball and basketball, working on her art, watching anime, shopping and spending time with friends and family.

Her favorite Bible Verse: "Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love drives out fear. It is punishment that makes a person fear, so love is not made perfect in the person who fears." 1 John 4:18 (NCV)

Zach Griepenstroh, Worship Minister

What he does for NT: Zach oversees worship at North Terrace. With the help of an amazing group of volunteers he leads the church to worship our Creator through music on Sunday morning. His goal is that everyone at North Terrace can understand what it means to use their gifts to glorify our God.

His family: He is married to his amazing wife Joy who shares his passion of worship. They have two children - Nora and Judah.

In his spare time: Zach loves watching movies and tv shows and playing video games. He loves spending time with his family, hiking and relaxing outdoors. He also has a pretty good collection of vinyl records.

Favorite Verse: “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Joshua 1:5

Luke Nash, Connections Minister

What he does for NT: Luke engages and connects people to their purpose in God’s kingdom and community within our church through discipleship pathways.

His family: Luke is thrilled to be married to his wonderful wife, Mikayla

In his spare time: Luke loves being active, and is happy to try just about anything at least twice! The usual time thieves are basketball, running, video games, and singing. Huge fan of the Chicago Bulls, Bears, and Cubs, and remains loyal to THE University of Illinois Fighting Illini.

Favorite Bible Verse: "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Sheena Fortner, First Impressions Coordinator

What she does for NT: Sheena leads our first impressions team to welcome people to our church, get people connected and grow in their faith.

Her family: She is the proud mother of Jarett and Shelby.

In her spare time: Sheena enjoys curling up on the couch to watch a good movie, being with her family and hanging out with her friends.

Favorite Bible verse: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11-12

Stephanie Hill, Volunteers and Community Engagement Coordinator

What she does for NT: Stephanie coordinates the scheduling of events on the NT Campus and also assists in connecting people to service opportunities.

Her family: She is married to Darin and they have two spoiled rotten rescue dogs, Bangles and Nibbles.

In her spare time: Stephanie serves on our local Animal Shelter Board of Directors, enjoys doing therapy visits with her therapy dog, Bangles, and is passionate about her favorite sports teams, the Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Blue Jackets and Dallas Cowboys.

Favorite Verse: “In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matt 5:16


Support Staff

Julie Vansickle, Administration

What she does for NT: Julie serves as the Accounts Payable Administrator, assists the different ministries and staff by logging purchases to keep budgets up to date and accurate. Maintains logs for various accounts in the church financial database.

Her family: She married John in 1983. They raised their three amazing kids on the family farm and now enjoy several grandkids and a closely-knit family.

In her spare time: Julie enjoys creating art, being outdoors, her pets, NASCAR races, camping, music, and mission trips, but most of all loves being with her family and friends.

Her favorite Bible verse: "You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely." Psalm 59:17

Sylvia Burkey, Administration

What she does for NT: In addition to being responsible for the weekly Prayer and Hospital Lists, Sylvia serves as receptionist and coordinates the First Aid Response Team. She also provides support to the Senior Adults ministry, and helps develop policies and procedures in regards to fire and safety practices.

Her family: She is married to Gene Burkey and has two sons. David and his wife, Kari and their three children attend NT. Mike, his wife and two sons live in Ft. Wayne, IN.

In her spare time: Sylvia enjoys reading and making cards. She belongs to and makes cards for the Someone Cares group. She enjoys playing the keyboard for Gene and the Senior Choir, as well as for the evening Senior Adult Service.
